Planlet Incubation
Keep the plantlet in the container provided by us, then transfer it into a carefully controlled incubation environment for the shoot induction phase.
Incubate the culture: Place the culture in an incubator room with the following conditions:
- Temperature: Around 24-26°C (75-79°F).
- Light: A 16-hour light/8-hour dark cycle.
- Humidity: Around 70-80%.
Check for shoot development: Over the next 9 weeks, regularly check for the development of shoots. Transfer to greenhouse when roots are established.
Greenhouse Care
Materials Needed:
- Greenhouse or similar controlled environment
- Pots
- Potting soil or a soil-less medium
Procedure:
Prepare for acclimatization: Fill pots with potting soil or a soil-less medium and carefully remove the plantlets from the culture medium, taking care not to damage the roots. Rinse off any remaining medium.
Plant the plantlets: Place the plantlets in the prepared pots.
Begin acclimatization: Start with high humidity (around 80-90%) and low light intensity in a controlled greenhouse environment, then gradually decrease humidity and increase light intensity over a few days to a few weeks until conditions match those of the rest of the greenhouse.
Maintain optimal greenhouse conditions: Once acclimatized, ensure that the plants are kept in the following conditions:
- Light: Aim for a light intensity of about 10,000 to 15,000 lux.
- Temperature: Maintain a temperature range of 20-30°C (68-86°F).
- Humidity: Try to maintain a relative humidity of 50-70%.
- Watering: Water the plants when the top inch of soil becomes dry.
- Ventilation: Maintain good airflow to prevent disease but avoid causing plants to dry out too quickly.
